A lovely first day with the babies, and we managed to stay dry!
Homebred 6yo 'Time To Gamble' owned by myself and Iona Dent loved his first ever event! Taking it all in his stride, a lovely test but slightly harsh mark we felt for 35. But followed this on with a super bold D/C to finish on his dressage and place 9th!
The striking grey 7yo 'Renegade Cruising' owned by Dom Watson and Lorene Watson proved today that slow and steady, with time to develop is the way forward. A great test of 33 and a super D/C. To complete on his dressage and place 6th!
Speedy 7yo Ex Racehorse 'Candelaria' owned by Abi Busk was so much fun! Our first run together after him doing a handful of events with Abi. 34Dr and a perfect D/C for him, putting his racing day moves into practice for a speedy XC to finish on his dressage and place 7th.
Thank you so much to the whole team at home and at the event over this weekend and always!! Mum's beautiful plaits, Kendall Dickinson epic grooming skills and making them look beautiful this morning. And my super owners providing me with a yard of class horses to compete.
Back for Day 2 - bright and early!
A very wet annd muddy day for the BE100!
Early start to the day for the lovely 8yo 'IWonderIf' owned by Rosie Dent. His first event and what more could we ask for, a lovely dressage in the wind and rain followed by a super clear SJ and making nothing of a bit of mud then a fantastic XC round, so straight and genuine. His hunting this winter and the last few seasons certainly paid off, making nothing of the mud to come home double clear and finish 7th.
Special black beauty 'Tango Blu' owned by Irma Rosati, did a sweet test but due to the all day heavy rain, his 1st BE outing in a year finished there. Despite the best efforts of the whole team at Swalcliffe the ground got very muddy and deep we decided to save this very special boy for another day. Likewise, the lovely 'Interlaken W' owned by myself and Nicky Bennell who had come for an easy fun run before Cirencester just did his dressage. And a very good test is was too, always another day!
Huge thanks to Swalcliffe for as always putting on the most wonderful event. The very dedicated team of volunteers in the most challenging conditions were always smiling! The event is a credit to you all.
