CCI* - Knights Escapade CIC** 7yo- Cruise On Inny
An exciting final 3 day event for us, Knights Escapade produced a lovely dressage in a massive CCI* section with over 135 starters, He made a couple of little mistakes but on the whole very happy with his score of 42. Cruise on Inny was competing in his first CIC** 7yo, his test was absolutely lovely although a couple of mistakes scoring well on a score of 49, putting him in 12th going into the XC.
The CCI* XC asked plenty of questions for this level but Knights Escapade stormed round inside the time, then on the final SJ day just having one unlucky pole to put him into 18th at the end of the competition. So happy with him all week, he tried his hardest and felt fantastic. He too will now be sold and with all his experience i know he will go on to give someone alot of fun at CCI* and Novice level.
Cruise On Inny, jumped fantastic in his biggest SJ track to date in an atmospheric arena, he jumped at super clear and was in a highly competitive position going in to the XC. After a number of holds and hanging around in the morning, due to several falls and broken pins, we finally got under way an hour later. Annoyingly then only to be held again at fence 5 for another broken pin. This really put Cruise on Inny to test. He relies a lot on having his blood up and i think was somewhat confused by the situation, after feeling so great in warm up he switched off a little. Sadly this wasn't meant to be his winning debut at this level, and he is saved for another day and will come out even stronger next year.
Thankfully all horses and riders after their falls were fine, and its good to say that the pins had been doing their job.
Novice- Trendy Captain Clover Cruise On Inny
A lovely last outing for 2016 and Trendy Captain Clover felt on fantastic form. He was harshly marked in his dressage for a 35, but followed this up with a bouncy D/C in the novice, finishing just outside of the top 10!
Cruise On Inny, managed to get a last minute entry in the novice although having to run HC. He did a lovely test for 29, and a great D/C, thinking the SJ and XC were somewhat smaller than his last outing! He technically was a WINNER WINNER once again at Novice level, if it wasn't for the minor point of him being HC! He will now go on to have a well deserved holiday with his friend in the field!
