As the year comes to a close, I want to extend my warmest Christmas wishes to all my friends, supporters, and everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. 2024 has been a memorable year, filled with many highs, a few lows, and countless unforgettable moments.

Looking Back at 2024

Standout moment: Without a doubt, my standout moment of 2025 has to be my 7-year-old, CHF Captain Jacob, absolutely bossing his first 3*L at Hartpury. I love competing at Hartpury and over the years, many of the horses I've ridden there have gone on to compete at the top level. It’s a definitely a steppingstone and for Captain Jacob to have achieved this milestone at just 7 years old is very special.

Funniest moment: Oh, where to begin? Too many to recall! But Claud, who works for me, never fails to deliver, coming in with classic comments on a daily basis at the yard.

Proudest moment: Again, CHF Captain Jacob really fulfils this with what he achieved this year. Along with his success, my other young horses (some of which are homebred) have had their first events. Double Time FW started eventing this year and having bred him, it’s very special. Stallion Chanuck Z also deserves a mention, he’s gone from strength to strength and produced some very proud moments this season.

Biggest lesson learnt: Horses are horses, not machines – although I already knew that! This year has reinforced the importance of embracing every high, as the equestrian world comes with its fair share of lows.

Favourite person met: I've had the pleasure of meeting lots of fabulous new clients that I teach. It's always a joy to connect with new people and share my passion for eventing with them.

Most challenging moment: Picking myself up after an emotional trauma was undoubtedly the most challenging moment of the year. It reminded me of the resilience required in this sport and in life.

Best place visited: Definitely coaching in Barbados! I’m fortunate to be able to blend work with the beauty of such a stunning place.

Soundtrack of 2024: Taylor Swift, always! Her music has kept us all motivated and inspired.

Favourite snack: Sensations crisps. Essential for keeping us going during busy days at the yard.
