Not entirely sure where to start other than how lucky I feel to have 2 incredible horses and 2 most amazing owners, that support me through this roller coaster of a sport.
CHF Archie, 9yo. Competing in his 2nd 4*S. His posh trotting wasn't his best work in the white boards, after a great lead-up, bits of tension crept in on the day. He's matured so much and I know his best is yet to come as he gets more established. SJ Saturday and wow he certainly likes to show off... embracing the crowds to jump a super easy clear making it seem like a BE100! The most amazing clear XC, so straight, brave and genuine- he made this phase feel easy. Every distance coming up perfectly and making nothing of the troublesome water and corners. He just jumps for fun! A huge climb in placings after his super D/C. So proud of him!
Sixmilewater, 8yo. Competing in his 1st 3*L . Still a relatively new partnership but he tried so hard, the trust we've built already makes the future beyond exciting. A lovely test, rideable and relaxed. A couple of miscommunications pushing our score up, to a still respectable 33.6. XC Day, he showed his class. Brave, honest and bold, every step of the way to cruise home easily inside the time. A truly memorable XC ride! SJ Day, with very tight scores- making just one pole extremely expensive! Buster, picked up his toes, none the wiser of speeding around nearly a 9 minute XC track the day before. He too made a huge climb in placings to complete on his dressage score. These two horses put the biggest smile on my face and certainly left me a little 'emotional' on Sunday!
I genuinely believe 5* is back on the cards in the very near future!! None of this is possible without my team, the army of people that surround me and pick me up when things are tough. The horses look and feel incredible and that's thanks to everyone's hard work. Katie Smart turned them out all week to the highest standard and catered to their every need!
Thank you to Mum, Owners, friends and clients for some pretty cool video footage, making this a very memorable weekend.
