Horses all on top form at Swalcliffe Park

21/22nd March was certainly a busy one, with 6 horses competing over the weekend at my most local event Swalcliffe Park.
The first day saw Danetime Panther and Veliene in the BE90 Open. Panther competing in his 2nd ever BE Event after a successful racing career. He was slightly more on his toes today for his dressage but still scored well within his section for a 32.8. Jumping better than ever he did a fantastic double clear to complete on his dressage.

Veliene also felt brilliant, having been prepared by owner Louise Weir, she has done a brilliant job with this talented mare. Her most settled and relaxed test, but harshly marked for 34.3, she too then followed up with a great double clear to complete on her dressage.

Lastly on the Saturday the rather cheeky Strattonstown Smartie, full of character and very much ready for his competition in the BE100. His dressage had some lovely parts with a little bit of tension creeping in every now and again but still to score 30.3, we were all very happy. Not sure who had the most fun SJ and XC, but springs were definitely intact, bouncing his way round the SJ, giving every fence a foot clearence and likewise XC , a speedy clear to complete on his dressage.

End of day one saw Danetime Panther 6th, Veliene 9th and Strattonstown Smartie 7th.

Day 2, with CVS Indian Summer, Eyesnosebest and Corinthian Clover all in the BE100 open.
My second run with the lovely grey Corinthian Clover, completely a lovely test, with so much more room for improvement, scoring a very respectable 25.5, followed by a speedy double clear to complete on his dressage.

CVS Indian Summer, did a great test, with the trot work scoring excellent marks, and some great moments within the test to score a 28.3. She too excelled SJ and XC with a double clear inside the time making everything feel very easy.

Eyesnosebest, did her best test to date - or so we thought but the judge marked very hard which we were disappointed by, so scoring a 36. She pinged and zoomed round the XC like a pro coming home well inside the time to complete on her dressage score.

End of day 2 saw Eyesnosebest with a 7th place, CVS Indian Summer in 6th and Corinthian Clover bringing home all the prizes for a WIN!! All in all a pretty cool weekend, feeling very lucky to ride such lovely talented horses with fantastic supportive owners!

Starting the season as we mean to go on!!
