A pretty manic week for Ginny prior to Hartpury this year, plenty of organisation was needed to make things run smoothly. Although with just one horse running, logistics were a precision operation with both Liz and Ginny at the Olympics on different days. Everything paid off in the end and Ginny had a very successful week enjoying the Olympics which were just incredible.
Divilabit was a little tense for his dressage on the Friday, having worked well the day before he became tight across his back affecting the fluency of the movements. The final score of 56.4 put him in 35th place over night.
The cross country course was tough and up to height, it asked plenty of questions and kept both Ginny and Divilabit at full concentration. Jumping brilliantly and going clear inside the time, the combination had a fantastic day which proved very influential on the leader board moving them up several places to go into the Showjumping.
Finishing fit and well off the cross country course, Divilabit was treated to a massage from Leigh Miller to take away any stiffness following his round.
At the next morning’s trot up, Divilabit certainly did not feel tired after the previous day’s hard work and he passed without a glitch.
The Showjumping was also up to height and had been causing plenty of problems, but still on great form a lovely clear from Divilabit meant he moved up some more places. Much to Ginny’s delight, he finished on their dressage score and in 16th place gaining some more BE points and some well-earned prize money.
Ginny is taking the long trip up to Blair this week – fingers crossed for more success before Blenheim!
