Ginny took a fairly local road trip to Goring Heath with Bobby DazzlerMan and Shannondle Sparky for the BE100 and Novice.
Bobby was a little more unsettled than usual in his Dressage so didn’t receive one of his best marks, nevertheless he jumped well in the Showjumping with just a light miss judgement in the combination followed by a fantastic clear cross country to make it all feel really easy.
Shannondale Sparky was competing in his second novice and did a lovely test to score 30 in his dressage. He followed this up with a fantastic double clear to finish eigth in his section after a steady round cross country on firm ground. Ginny is very pleased with his progress and his future is going to be exciting.
Ginny headed back to Goring on the Sunday with Zztop and Greenlough Dave for the Intermediate Novice. Both Greenlough Dave and Zztop have come such a long way in a very short space of time. Both horses did good dressage tests but need to consolidate their movements and bring in more expression and consistency to receive higher marks.
Zztop jumped very well Showjumping to go clear followed by a nice clear cross country. Greenlough Dave had his first run back since Hartpury and Showjumped amazingly despite a rider error into the second last. He gave everything a huge amount of height over the fences, but he sadly jarred himself a little and did not feel 100% in the cross country so Ginny pulled him up early on in the course to save him for another day; he has a very bright future ahead of him so plenty more opportunities.
