So lovely to be out eventing in the sunshine with 3 very exciting young horses.
First out was 'Interlaken W' owned by myself and Nicky Bennell. After enjoying lots of BS over the last month he got to put his posh trotting into practice and speed XC. A brilliant dressage of 28 followed by a foot perfect clear SJ and XC within the time saw him place 2nd. Feeling brilliant in each phase and ready for his next run at Novice.
'Confession Time', the lovely 5yo owned by Em Tweedie is certainly maturing into an impressive horse. He too has been amazingly consistent in his show jumping over the last few months and a pleasure to produce. His first BE100 and a 32 dressage for him followed by an unlucky pole SJ after jumping a little too big into a combination then a super clear XC, finding the questions asked particularly easy. I'm so excited to get him out for his next run at Whitfield.
'CHF Archie' This super 6yo, Owned by Jane Blakesley-Grimes. His second ever event and how much he has learnt since the last one. He worked beautifully on the flat to score a very competitive score of 31. He jumped a brilliant SJ round with an unlucky pole. Learning all the time, This is just the 2nd occassion that hes had so much going on around the arena. XC he took it all in his stride, his hunting days came into practice but a little confused to why he was leaving his friends behind. He enjoyed a great clear XC and answered every question.
A 5 hour trip down south on Easter weekend certainly worth it! The amazing venue of Bicton Arena, fantastic BE Volunteers and just brilliantly run its definitely one of my favourites.
'Undalgo De Windsor' was first to run, and a lovely dressage of 33. I think he loves his new Voltaire Dressage saddle just as much as me. I really can not believe the difference in his movement as well as being super comfy and I feel so secure. His SJ was slightly out of character after jumping up to fence 8 like a pro, he then got upset when another horse came into the arena in front of him and completely distracted resulting in a few poles. A real shame but hes got to learn about these things. XC he was his usual super star making the whole course feel tiny and very straightforward, which it very much wasn't!! So straight and quick he gave me a class ride to be just over the time and finish in the top 12.
'Trendy Captain Clover' had his best posh trotting shoes on to score 29 in his OI section. He then jumped with springs in his shoes in the SJ for a clear and went on to the XC on brilliant form, he zoomed round just adding a few time to a brilliant clear. Loving his run round and feeling totally amazing!
Good boys! A brilliant run ahead of Chatworth 4* in a month.
